Tamika Tremaglio’s Letter to her Older Self
By | May 27, 2020

Tamika Tremaglio is the Greater Washington managing principal of Deloitte and is responsible for overseeing more than 10,000 audit, tax, advisory, and consulting professionals in the region.

Many of you know that my book, The Empress Has No Clothes, came about after hearing from folks who read my letter to my younger self in Ellyn Spragins’s book What I know Now, Letter to My Younger Self, where I described my challenges in dealing with the Imposter Syndrome. Four years ago I was invited by my friend Tamika Tremaglio to lead a discussion of my book at a Deloitte Women’s Leadership Group event. As a part of the event, four of Deloitte’s senior women, including Tamika, wrote honest and endearing letters to their younger selves and shared them with the women attending the event. This was an incredible experience not just for the women who wrote the letters but also for attendees at the event. (You can read the letters on my website under the Articles tab Four Powerful Women’s Letters to their Younger Selves)

Last week, I received a message from Tamika that during these turbulent times of the coronavirus that we are all currently facing she decided to write a “letter to her older self”. I was so touched and inspired by Tamika’s letter that I decided to share it with you in her own voice. Listen to Tamika’s inspiring words
